The Trip Home

One of Maryland's Famous Light Houses on the Chesapeake Bay

My wife and I lived overseas for 9 years and have traveled all over the globe, we found that the Chesapeake Bay region is one of the most beautiful places on earth. We live on one of Maryland's scenic rivers (Wicomico River) on the western shore and plan on using the Morgan sailboat to travel, explore and photograph the Chesapeake bay region.

Leaving Ferry Point Marina after 3 years and 3 months in dry-dock!

Approaching the Chesapeake Bay Bridge

Going under the Bay Bridge.

Another Chesapeake Bay Light House close to 100 years old.

Light houses like this one are being sold via auction by the Federal Government to the general public. You might think that these light houses would make a great summer retreat or bed and breakfast but then there is the sound of the foghorn that along with the light must be kept in working order and available for inspection at any time by the U.S. Coast Guard! If you are interested there was an article published on the Maryland lighthouses FOR SALE by the Washington Post Metro Section on November 23, 2007.

Clear, sunny and cold days for the trip home.
